Chris and Cherry Macey welcome you to Oakhill Bed and Breakfast

Oakhill is the former home of artist Dame Laura Knight who, in the early part of the last century, loved the peace, tranquility and the beautiful surroundings made famous in many of her paintings. Her circle of friends included fellow artists Alfred Munnings, Lamorna Birch, Stanhope Forbes and Charles and Ella Naper who, along with Laura and her husband Harold, had many parties here at Oakhill.
Lamorna is situated approximately five miles west of Penzance, a lively town providing excellent shopping, Inter City rail link and transport to the Isles of Scilly via the helicopter and ferry services.
The old fishing harbour of Newlyn is only four miles away and just a little further along the coast is the picturesque village of Mousehole. Also near by is the famous, open-air Minack Theatre at Porthcurno.
St Ives is easily accessible by car, offering narrow streets full of character with art galleries, great places to dine and fantastic sandy beaches.

The whole area is surrounded by luscious scenery, fabulous gardens and wonderful walks along the breathtaking coastline. Bedrooms are beautifully styled in keeping with this lovely old cottage and each has its own private bathroom. We offer a guests’ television lounge, which leads out to the delightful garden with stream and woodland walk, ideal if you like a spot of painting.
Local seasonal produce is sourced for our delicious home-cooked breakfasts.
